Bold180 (“we,” “us”) runs bold180.org. We know parents trust us with personal information, and we take that seriously. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
Bold180 list sign-ups: your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell us about what you’d like help with.
Parent to Parent stories: your name, email address, and the story or tip you send us.
Contact form messages: your name, email address, subject, and message.
Sunday Check-in sign-ups: your first name (optional) and email address, so we can send you the weekly email and the free Talk Cards.
Basic website data: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the site secure and working.
Visitor statistics: we count page visits with Koko Analytics, which runs on our own website, uses no cookies, and does not collect your name, email, or IP address. It only tells us which pages are read most, so we know what to write next.
What we don’t collect
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Bold180 is designed for parents and adults. Please do not include your child’s name, school, photos, or other identifying details in anything you send us.
How we use your information
- To email you updates you signed up for, such as new guides, the Sunday Check-in, and news about parent accounts.
- To review and, with your permission, publish your story using only your first name or “A parent.”
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep our website safe and working properly.
What we never do
We never sell your personal information. We never share it with advertisers. We only share it with service providers who help us run the website (such as our web host and email provider), and only as needed to provide those services.
How long we keep it
We keep sign-up and contact information until you ask us to remove it, or until it’s no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you, or to take you off our email list, by emailing admin@bold180youths.org. Every email we send will tell you how to unsubscribe.
The 180 Coach
The 180 Coach is a free chat assistant for parents only. Children should not use it. Here is what happens when you use it:
- No account and no saved conversations. We do not store your messages or the Coach’s replies on our website. The conversation stays in your browser tab and is gone when you leave the page.
- Our AI provider. To write each reply, your message (and the last few messages of the conversation) is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this information is not used to train their models, and Anthropic deletes it within 30 days, except where it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or meet legal requirements.
- Safety counts only. We keep daily counts of how often each safety rule is triggered. These are numbers only and contain no messages or personal information.
- Fair-use limits. To limit how many messages can be sent per hour and per day, we use a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that is kept for no more than one day. We never store the address itself for this.
- Please leave out identifying details such as your child’s name or school. The Coach does not need them to help you.
Read more on our How We Use AI page.
Safety
If something you share suggests that a child may be in immediate danger, please call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. Our forms are not monitored around the clock and are not an emergency service.
Translation
If you choose Español or Français, the page is translated automatically by Google Translate through the GTranslate service. Google may receive the page text and technical information, such as your IP address, to provide the translation. English pages are not sent for translation.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help draft our guides and, in the future, to power the 180 Coach for parents. We may also use AI to help sort our email and draft replies, but a person approves every reply before it is sent. Read the details on our How We Use AI page.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be shared with people on our waitlist.
