What if a mistake could become the start of a conversation instead of the end of one?
That question is why Bold180 exists.
Distance between a parent and a youth rarely shows up all at once. A hard subject gets put off. A mistake gets a lecture instead of a conversation. Our youths get quieter, and we’re left wondering how to reach them.
It doesn’t have to go that way.
Why “180”?
A 180 is a change in direction.
Bold180 came from seeing what one good conversation can do. Often a youth doesn’t need someone to fix everything. They need someone who will listen, ask good questions, and help them see another way forward.
That’s the kind of change we want to help families make.
When a mistake becomes a conversation
Youths will make mistakes. So will we. What matters is what happens next.
When your youth comes to you with something they’re struggling with, you don’t have to jump straight to what they should have done. Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is give them room to think, talk, and work it out.
When the answer comes from them, it tends to stick.
Becoming a mother made this personal for me. I want my son to know he can always come to me. Not because he’ll never make mistakes, but because when he does, that’s when we talk.

Built with purpose
Bold180 started with a simple belief: one honest conversation can change the direction of a youth’s life.
Our partners bring experience in education, research, technology, and AI governance. Every guide on this site has been read and approved by our founding partner, Marilyn Feh, PhD. Together, we’re building tools to help families handle what comes with raising youths today.
